International Women's Day
While we know women deserve celebration and recognition every day, International Women’s Day shines a spotlight on women’s contributions as well as their fight for equality.
On this important day, people across the world celebrate women’s strengths and recognize the ways gender equality and women’s rights can improve.
For 2022, the theme for International Women’s Day is #breakthebias.
The goal of this theme is to encourage people to look beyond societal bias, as well as their own, to see and embrace each other as equal within a diverse and inclusive global community. We need to remove discrimination and value the differences and uniqueness that women bring. When women support each other, incredible things happen!
Some ways you can support women and women-owned businesses are:
Celebrating and acknowledging the achievements of women, both now and throughout history.
Raising awareness about the inequality women face on a daily basis.
Encouraging donations to female-focused charities.
Helping spread the word about women-owned businesses or services.
Being a female business owner but also a wife and mom has its hardships but has proven to me that I can achieve my dreams no matter what. I’ve learned that faith, confidence, and strength are what help me grow and stay focused on being the amazing female entrepreneur that I am!
There is no better way to celebrate International Women’s Day than by supporting women-owned businesses. Here are some of my absolute favorite women-owned businesses located in Richmond, Virginia:
