Cheaper lower quality clothes, tend to shrink or fray after continued washes. When shopping look for clothes made with higher quality fabrics like organic cotton or rayon.

When doing messy tasks, like cooking, make sure to wear an apron or change into clothes that you wouldn't mind getting dirty. Stains can be the end for your favorite pieces, so make sure you take precautions to keep them clean. If you own really expensive pieces of clothes that you don't wear often, make sure that you keep them in a garment bag.
